Unique, sleeping in De Graenkoper (De Rijp)

In the picturesque De Rijp, belonging to the 10 most beautiful villages in the Netherlands, since 1881 De Graenkoper has stood: the monumental house of the merchant who put the grain trade in the Beemster on the map. Over the years, the house has been fully equipped, but with preservation of the original style elements such as the French fireplace, natural stone tiles, and the authentic cupboard doors. Here, you can imagine yourself back in time, to the romance of the past.

De Graenkoper in the news

Let yourself be surprised

Upon entry, the historical details immediately catch the eye: the old Amsterdam cabinet doors, the fireplace, and the built-in bookcase. The ground floor is an open space with a seating area by the fireplace, a dining table, and a newly built kitchen (including a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator). From the kitchen, you can open the doors to the private enclosed patio, covered by a Blue Rain (Wisteria).
Through an open staircase, you reach the first floor. Here, there is a separate toilet and a spacious bedroom with a double bed and a classical bath. There is also a walk-in closet to easily store/hang all clothing (out of sight).
In the bedroom, there is also an antique wardrobe. But nothing is as it seems: open the doors of this wardrobe and there awaits a surprise: another bedroom with a double bed.

Full house

No shared spaces with other guests; the entire house is at your disposal. Next to the house, there is also a charming patio where you can enjoy a meal under the Wisteria and relax in peace.

Pet-friendly

If you would like to bring the dog(s) or cat(s) on a trip, then that is not a problem, they are more than welcome. Just bring their food bowl and some food yourself.

Complete convenience

Good wifi, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator (no freezer compartment), television (incl. chromecast), nespresso machine, kettle, fireplace, games, books of various genres. On request, a small freezer compartment can be placed in the house.

Self check-in

We always try to personally welcome our guests. But sometimes that's not possible, or guests have unexpectedly been delayed. No worries, there's a key box available, so check-in can actually take place at any desired time.

Beautiful surroundings

A historic center surrounded by water and the beautiful nature reserve of Eilandspolder. Plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling or boating.

Do not smoke!

Certainly not surprising but smoking is not allowed in the house. Of course, this can be done outside, on the patio, as well.
